Accounts & Signing In
This guide covers everything about your Weblearnia account: how to sign in, how roles work, and how to manage your profile.
One account, many schools
Your account is tied to your email address. The same account works across every Weblearnia school you belong to, but you always sign in on a specific school's web address, and you only ever see that school's data.
Ways to sign in
Email magic link
- Go to your school's sign-in page.
- Enter your email address.
- Check your inbox for a message from Weblearnia and click the sign-in link.
The link is single-use and expires after a short period. For best results, open it on the same device and browser where you requested it.
Google
If your email is a Google account, choose Continue with Google and approve the request. This signs you in instantly without checking email.
Both methods use the same account as long as the email address matches.
Your role and the role switcher
What you can do is determined by your role at the current school. If you hold more than one role (for example, parent and teacher, or roles at different schools), a role switcher appears. Selecting a role changes your sidebar and your permissions to match. Your selection is remembered for 30 days.
Your profile
Open your account/profile page to manage your personal details:
- Name — shown to others (for example, your name appears in the lecture room and on submissions).
- Photo.
- Bio and phone (optional).
- Preferred language — overrides the school default for you.
- Preferred time zone — controls how times are displayed to you across the app.
Changes apply immediately.
Joining a new school
When you sign in on a school's web address for the first time:
- If the school is accepting applications, you are taken to its application form.
- If an administrator has already added you, you go straight to your dashboard.
You cannot self-add to a school that is not accepting applications — an administrator must invite or approve you.
Signing out and security
- Use Sign out from the account menu when you are on a shared device.
- Weblearnia never asks for a password, so be cautious of any message that does — sign-in is always by magic link or Google.
- Sessions are scoped to each school's web address.
