Announcements

The Announcements page (under School administration) lets you broadcast a message to your school. Announcements reach members through their notification channels.

Sending an announcement

  1. Open Announcements.
  2. Write your message (title and body).
  3. Choose the audience:
    • Everyone
    • Students
    • Teachers
    • Parents
  4. Send.

The announcement appears in recipients' in-app notification feed and is delivered by email and push according to their settings.

Audience targeting

Pick the narrowest audience that fits — students for class news, teachers for staff coordination, parents for family-facing updates, or everyone for whole-school messages. This keeps notifications relevant and avoids notification fatigue.

How announcements interact with preferences

Announcements are important by design, so they may reach members even if they have muted some per-type notifications. However, they still respect a channel a member has switched off entirely (for example, someone who disabled email will not get the announcement by email but will still see it in-app).

Tips

  • Keep announcements short and action-oriented.
  • Use a clear title — it is what shows in the notification bell.
  • For routine class material, prefer course materials or notes over announcements.
