Attending Lectures

Live classes happen in Weblearnia's built-in lecture room. This guide covers joining and taking part.

Joining

When it's nearly time, the Join button activates on your Dashboard and Schedule. Click it to enter the room. (Teachers can join a bit earlier than students.)

You appear to others by your display name — set your name on your profile so classmates recognise you.

The waiting area (lobby)

Some lectures use a lobby: after joining you wait until the teacher admits you. Just hang tight — the teacher will let you in. Being admitted also records your attendance.

In the room

  • Video and audio — turn your camera and microphone on or off.
  • Screen sharing — the teacher (and sometimes students) can share their screen.
  • Chat — type messages to the room. Chat is saved, so if you close the panel or rejoin, your messages are still there. A badge shows unread messages when the chat panel is closed.
  • Raise hand — raise your hand to ask a question; the teacher sees who's raised.

Recordings

If the teacher records the session, the recording becomes available on the lecture afterward (it takes a little time to process). Not every lecture is recorded — that's up to the teacher.

Leaving

Leave the room when you're done. If the teacher ends the lecture for everyone, you'll be returned to the course page.

Tips & troubleshooting

  • Join on time so you don't miss the lobby admit.
  • No camera/mic? Allow your browser permission to use them, and close other apps using the camera.
  • Disconnected? Rejoin from your dashboard — your chat history comes back.
  • Join button greyed out? It only activates close to the start time.
