Notes
Notes let you record observations on a course or lecture with control over who can see them. Use them for private reminders, coordination with co-teachers, or messages to everyone in the course.
Visibility levels
Each note has one of three visibility settings:
- Private — only you can see it.
- Teachers — visible to the teachers of the course (for coordination).
- Everyone — visible to students (and parents) as well.
Visibility is enforced on the server, so a private note is genuinely private.
Adding and removing notes
On a course or lecture page, open the Notes section to add a note, choose its visibility, and save. Creation and deletion are immediate. Remove a note when it's no longer needed.
When to use notes vs. other tools
- Private notes — your own reminders ("revisit chapter 3 next week").
- Teachers notes — hand-offs between co-teachers or substitute teachers.
- Everyone notes — quick course-wide pointers. For formal resources use Materials; for whole-school messages, ask an admin to send an Announcement.
